Where does it come from ?

The traditional french-canadian repertoire was built «by ear» by generations of musicians exposed to various musical influences. It includes tunes from Ireland, Scotland (like the reel de Pointe-au-Pic), England (like the Reel de Sherbrooke), Britany, United-States, old France, even classical melodies (like Joseph Allard's Reel de Beaupré taken from a ballet by Tchaïkovski) or Parisian café-concert tunes (like the Reel du Boulanger).
