What is it ?

Traditional Quebecois music is first and foremost danse music. Various rythms for group danses (contra dances or square dances) or solo "gigues" (pronounced jigs). To know more about these dances, the reader is directed to an article on Mnémo's web site titled "Du set au cotillon... Petite introduction à la danse traditionnelle québécoise et à ses genres... (here) — as soon as I get the authorisation from the authors, I'll post the english translation.
